How Do I Become a Referee?

The first step in becoming a high school basketball official is to register with the Missouri State High School Activities Association or MSHSAA.  To get started with your MSHSAA registration, visit the MSHSAA website  www.mshsaa.org

After you register with MSHSAA and obtain your official number, you may then complete the IAABO 173 membership application by clicking tab below.  You will be contacted by one the IAABO leaders. 

If you are new to officiating or have less than one year of experience, you will be enrolled in IAABO 173’s Official’s Development Program (ODP).

Officials with two or more years of officiating experience will be invited to the IAABO 173 Team Camp where your skills will be evaluated by senior officials.
